The 13th DSS Europe offers much more than just the largest European Digital Signage and DooH conference of the year. A workshop and hands-on programme complements the two day lecture programme – completely free for all conference participants.

In addition to the extensive international speaker line up, this year we are offering additional workshops, hands-on sessions and site inspections. Conference participants will have the opportunity to try out new technologies themselves and to get acquainted with Digital Signage complementary solutions – just some of the many reasons for Digital Signage providers, interested customers and agencies to participate in this year’s DSS Europe.


Workshop fragrance marketing “The sweet smell of successful customer experiences” (4th July 15h)

Sensory marketing is becoming increasingly important for experience-oriented retail concepts. Fragrance affects people emotionally and is unconsciously perceived. Amazingly, 75% of all thoughts are based on scents, with only 25% triggered visually or by touch. More and more retailers, brand owners and museums are using sensory marketing to supplement Digital Signage – which remains up until now as untapped potential for the majority of Digital Signage providers.

In the workshop, Scent experts from Akewuele in Barcelona explain how fragrances work, how successful Digital Signage – scent concepts have been realised (including Inditex, Real Madrid), necessary supporting technology, and how to create brand fragrances (brand odotype).

The free workshop, which is limited to 25 participants, presents a unique opportunity to experience the revenue and customer loyalty potential of Digital Signage and Scent Marketing.

What to expect from our workshop:

  • Introduction explaining the relevance of scent marketing as part of the customer experience, including best practice, examples of scents that have been produced and the reasoning behind those decisions and how that scent was developed
  • Workshop: individuals or “teams” (workmates) develop their own corporate scent based on mixing certain raw fragrances together that represent characteristics.  These people can then take their developed perfume home with them.

Further Hands-on Workshops take place on the afternoon of the 04.07. with the following topics:

  • “Digital Signage and 8k“ and
  • “3D and AR in Digital Signage”
  • An additional highlight is thepost convention tour with Media Frankfurt at Frankfurt Airport. All workshops und tours are free. Samsung and LG also offer the opportunity to visit their new showrooms in the immediate vicinity of the airport.


Tickets to DSS Europe allows access on both days to the conference and exhibition area, as well as to the evening event on 4 July.
