HOW MUSIC, ART AND VIRTUAL REALITY IS CAPTURING IMAGINATIONS AT PANIK CITY

Panik City is a unique multimedia experience about the life and work of Udo Lindenberg – one of Germany’s most successful performing artists. Situated in the St. Pauli Klubhaus at the heart of Hamburg’s entertainment district on the Reeperbahn, visitors are invited to take a 90-minute tour through Panik City in groups of up to 20 people.

Described as incomparable to anything else in the world, Panik City uses multi-vision storytelling, 270° video projection, a virtual Udo Lindenberg, augmented reality, interactive painting and virtual reality. The result is a multisensory experience in which visitors get to touch, hear and see Udo as they have never seen him before.

DSS Europe 2018 will hear from part owner and managing director of Panik City, Damian Rodgett, during his session, Music, Art and Virtual Reality – Digital experience at Panik City. Rodgett will discuss the interactive storytelling and highly innovative technology that is establishing a new benchmark for visitor attractions around the world.

He will give an overview of the fully-automated media control system designed by Pilot Screentime, which is unique in that it allows the multimedia shows to run 24/7 without any technical operators. It perfectly combines interactive storytelling with highly innovative technology, establishing a new benchmark for visitor attractions around the world.

Rodgett joined pilot as creative director and managing partner in 2000 and developed the company into one of Germany’s leading digital marketing agencies. He founded pilot Screentime in 2012, with a focus on digital signage and creating digital brand experiences. Known for his distinctive creative and innovative approach to developing communication, content, advertising and technology solutions for the advertising and entertainment industry, he has been recognised with many advertising awards.
